POPCORN CEILINGS - Poem

I’ve lived my whole life between popcorn ceilings and vinyl floors.
Next door neighbors and dollar stores.
Liquor stores, Checks Cashed, and the plethora of churches.
From clubs on the weekends to changing purses…
Faith came around so now I’m rooted.
And these same popcorn ceilings and vinyl floors
Have made each sip of life diluted…i see more now for which i am suited.
My walk in Christ, in which I am booted.
I see my dreams but reality is MYYY perspective.
Let me keep my mouth shut…
I see my President whom God’s elected.
Let me jump on the seen from quietly within the heat…
I see me…”I” see me, doing what I soberly can’t see
The visions I have are far beyond me
The visions I have are not simply for me…
But for my neighbor, the chosen, and called to be.
For those and I, economically and spiritually…
And to encourage my brother, my slave to the faith…
Whom also lived their lives between the heavens and dirt floors.
Questionable neighbors and whores.
Strip clubs, churches, and liquor stores.
From hard drugs back in the day to cancer sticks…
Faith came around, yet struggle abounds…
The thorn in my side; the looks of other people’s eyes
the reflection of hope in which we must all abide.
ALL for His glory purpose and praise!
